Lately.

I had planned to blog a weekend outing today but I am having trouble getting the images weeded down to an acceptable number to share.  So many that I love.  I will try to get it ready for tomorrow.  Here’s a sneak peak…

As for what has been happening around here…

1.  We have enjoyed a couple long three day weekends.  It has been LOVELY. We just hung out at home (for the most part) and relaxed quite a bit.  I am actually starting to really be a homebody.  Did I just say that??!!! 

2.  I have been on a wild chase for GOOD vanilla extract since I was educated by Amanda.  I have looked at all the stores around here and only found plain old pure vanilla.  Then today when I ran into Marshall’s guess what I found…

Two bottles to be exact.  Yay!!  I also read online that this Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla is the Queen of all vanillas when it comes to baking.  Now I can’t wait to get in the kitchen and whip something up to test it out!  Anyone used it before?  Could you REALLY tell a difference?

3.  We recently ordered a new sectional for our family room.  It was delivered this morning.  The boys jumped on it as soon as they got home from school.  They are breaking it in nicely.

Even doing homework together on it. 

It is exactly what I wanted.  It’s just that we went from furniture too small to something large that completely fills the space. It goes on… and on… and on.   I LOVE that there is more than enough room for all of us to spread out (friends too) and hang out AT THE SAME TIME in the family room now.  Woohoo!  Maybe I am wishful thinking that the small furniture is what kept the kids from hanging with us… but I am going to think that and hope this is the answer!   

4.  We had a MAJOR milestone reached yesterday.  MAJOR.  Another blog post coming with details of that one. 

5.  I totally slacked on my daily pics the past couple weeks.  I am sad about it too.    I WILL DO BETTER. 

6.  My husband came in and told me to go buy some things for the rooms we are redecorating.  Swoon!!! 

7.  I have been liking the Project Life idea, but when I tried to work on a page for myself I just didn’t like the look.  I think I have figured out a variation that will work for me.    I need to figure out a way to document our memories.  Especially since Noah has mentioned he really misses my scrapbooks.  Stay tuned. 

8.  I apologize for not posting a lot lately.  I have been pretty stressed dealing with some school/teacher issues.  Trying to decide whether a call to the principal is in order.  I am NOT one to complain about anything, but this has been a VERY DIFFICULT year.  I am actually counting down with the kids until summer!!
